Alcohol Suspected in Rollover Crash, Fairmont Woman Killed

(Fairmont, MN) – One person is dead and another hospitalized after a crash early Sunday morning in Martin County.

The State Patrol says a pickup driven by 27-year-old Tyler Richard Byers of Fairmont was northbound on Highway 263 when it left the road at 12:16 and rolled multiple times.

Byers and his passenger, 26-year-old Myra Ivehe Guzman of Fairmont were both ejected from the truck. Guzman was killed. Byers was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester with injuries that are not considered life threatening.

The State Patrol says alcohol was involved and that neither Guzman nor Byers were wearing seat belts.
