(Mankato, MN) – The invasion of bears into southern Minnesota continues, with the latest reported sighting in Mankato.
A citizen reported seeing an adult black bear last Friday morning in Rasmussen Woods.
Other sightings over the last month have been reported near Amboy, Courtland, Kilkenny, Montgomery, Northfield, Sleepy Eye, Rochester and Windom.
In some of those cases, a cub was spotted along with an adult bear.
The DNR says sightings in southern Minnesota, while unique, may become more common as the black bear’s normal range expands to the south and west.
