(New Ulm, MN) – A 46-year-old Springfield man has been charged for allegedly driving drunk with his daughter in the car – as they made a trip to get “Easter stuff.”
Bryan Lee Randolph is accused of child endangerment and DWI.
Court documents say police were called to the Dollar General in Springfield around 2:30 on Friday, March 30th, saying there was an intoxicated person in the store with a young child.
The responding officer saw Randolph and the girl, age 9, get into their vehicle and the officer approached just as Randolph was about to put the keys in the ignition. Police say Randolph smelled of alcohol and admitted to drinking that morning. He also admitted that he did not have a valid driver’s license.
A preliminary breath test put his alcohol concentration at .214, more than two and a half times the legal limit.
