(Mankato, MN) – Charges have been filed against a 32-year-old woman who was allegedly drunk when she crashed her car in Blue Earth County, and had her young son with her.
Amanda Jean Wilcox of Waterville is charged with two counts of DWI.
According to the complaint, Wilcox drove off the road and into a ditch southwest of St. Clair around 10:30am on Saturday. A responding officer says Wilcox smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech.
A portable breath test put her blood alcohol content at .166, more than twice the legal limit. Police say Wilcox admitted to having a half-dozen vodka drinks.
Paperwork was forwarded to Human Services for review of the incident because her two-year-old son was in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
