UPDATE: The mother in the case has now been charged as well.

(St. James, MN) – A 36-year-old St. James man is facing criminal charges after a raid of his home by agents with the Minnesota River Valley Drug Task Force.

Bobby Joe Murilla is accused of two counts of drug possession and one count of child endangerment.

According to the complaint, authorities executed a search warrant at Murilla’s St. James residence on March 29th and found the home to be in “significant disarray.”

Police say the floors were completely covered with clothing and garbage – and every room had rotting food, fruit flies, cat feces and garbage. That included the room occupied by the child of Murilla and 31-year-old Melissa Ann Farr. Police say they found it difficult to breathe in the house because of the foul smell.

Police say also found were a baggie with methamphetamine residue and a small amount of marijuana.

Murilla was arrested and the child was taken into protective custody.
