(Mankato, MN) – It looks like the end is coming for another retailer with locations in southern Minnesota.
According to a report from Reuters, the only bidders at Monday’s court-supervised bankruptcy auction for Bon-Ton Stores Inc. were liquidators. Reuters says that means Bon-Ton “will go out of business,” with the selling of inventory starting once a winning bidder is selected and the deal approved by the court.
In all, Bon-Ton has more than 200 regional department stores under various names, including Herberger’s, Younkers and Carson’s.
In southern Minnesota, there are Herberger’s locations in Mankato, New Ulm, Albert Lea and Rochester. Austin is home to a Younkers.
