(Mankato, MN) – Those who’ve been wanting to get a look at the baby bison at Minneopa State Park just south of Mankato can do so for free tomorrow.
Saturday, June 9th, is National Get Outdoors Day and to mark the event, admission will be free at all 75 Minnesota state parks and recreation areas.
At Minneopa, visitors can try to catch a glimpse of the four bison calves that have been born this spring. Two are girls, one is a boy and the other is thus far undetermined. Park officials say a fifth bison baby is also possible in the days or weeks ahead.
In addition to the bison, Minneopa will also play host on Saturday (1p-3p) to the Minnesota Zoomobile, with live animals storytelling and an ice cream social.
