Four Escape Overnight House Fire in Mankato

(Mankato, MN) – The State Fire Marshal is investigating an overnight house fire in Mankato.

The blaze broke out just after 3:00 Saturday morning at 121 Jaybee Lane. There were four people home sleeping at the time, and one awoke to smoke. All exited safely.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire. Damages are estimated at $15,000.

The Mankato Department of Public Safety says the smoke detectors in the home did not work.
