(Mankato, MN) – Summer vacation can be especially tough for families struggling to put food on the table, but once again there will be plenty of help available.
Among the options are free weekday meals at Mankato Area Public Schools. The meals are available for all kids ages 18 and under and there are no financial restrictions. Breakfast is served from 7:30am to 8:30am; and lunch from 11:30am to 12:30pm.

Another summer option is from the Mankato Salvation Army, which serves lunch from its mobile kitchen each weekday (11a-1:30p) with stops at Eastport Apartments, Homestead/Blue Heron Apartments, Lime Valley Mobile Home Park, Lincoln Community Center and Colony Court.
In addition, the ECHO Food Shelf has a program that provides supplemental food for children during the summer months.
