(Mankato, MN) – The search for a man who had taken off with his three-month-old baby is over.

Mankato Police say 25-year-old Gabriel Lara voluntarily returned the infant to the Public Safety Center around 11pm last night.

The baby’s return came just three hours after an alert was issued seeking Lara, with police saying that Lara was avoiding contact and would not return the child to the mother.

At this point, it’s unclear if Lara will face charges for his actions such as deprivation of parental rights.
