Mankato Man Hospitalized After Car Collides With Semi

(Le Sueur, MN) – A 34-year-old Mankato man was hospitalized after his car was hit by a semi on a snowy and icy Highway 169 near Le Sueur at 8:00 Tuesday morning.

The State Patrol says Ahmed Mahamud Shiiraar was northbound on 169 when he lost control of his car and it went into the path of the semi and was struck. The car came to a rest in the ditch with heavy side damage. The semi pulled over.

Shiiraar was taken to MCHS Mankato with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the semi, 46-year-old Steve Martin Rodewald of New Ulm, was not hurt.
