Men From Waseca & Janesville Hospitalized After Hwy 14 Crash

(Waseca, MN) – Two men were hospitalized following a Monday afternoon crash on Highway 14 crash in Waseca County.

The State Patrol says 40-year-old Jeffrey Michael Schmidt of Janesville was trying to cross the highway at 50th street when his car hit the passenger side of a westbound International semi, bounced off and spun into the left front of a Kenworth semi.

Schmidt was taken to MCHS-Mankato for treatment of his injuries, as was 56-year-old Robert Frederick Byron of Waseca.

The driver of the Kenworth, 55-year-old David Wayne Chalupa of North English, Iowa, was not hurt.
