(Mapleton, MN) – A 32-year-old woman from Mapleton has now been formally charged for leading police on a high speed chase.

April May Valliant is accused of fleeing police, drug possession, careless driving and driving after revocation.

According to the complaint, a Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Deputy spotted Valliant around 11:30pm on April 12th, driving in the wrong lane on Highway 112.

The deputy gave chase, but Valliant wouldn’t pull over as the pursuit at times reached over 100 miles per hour.  The chase eventually ended when Valliant lost control of her vehicle and it went into the ditch and then collided with the squad car.

During the course of the pursuit, the deputy said that Valliant threw something from her car. A subsequent search of the area turned up a baggie with nearly 40 grams of methamphetamine.
