(St. James, MN) – Charges have now been brought against the mother after police allegedly found drugs and garbage in a St. James home.
Melissa Ann Marie Farr is charged with child endangerment and causing a child to be exposed to methamphetamine.
The charges stem from a search by the Minnesota River Valley Drug Task force on March 29th at the home occupied by Farr and 36-year-old Bobby Murilla.
According to the complaint, the home was in “significant disarray,” with the floors completely covered with clothing and garbage – and garbage, cat feces, rotting food, and fruit flies in every room, including the child’s. Police say the foul smell in the home was so bad, they found it difficult to breathe.
Police say also found were a baggie with methamphetamine residue in the house and a small amount of marijuana on Murilla.
Murilla was arrested and the child was taken into protective custody.
