Not So Smooth Criminal, Michael Jackson Jailed in Mankato for Counterfeiting

Buffalo Wings Leader

(Mankato, MN) – A 31-year-old Mankato man who shares his name with the late King of Pop apparently wasn’t such a Smooth Criminal.

Michael Jackson will have plenty of time for looking at the Man in the Mirror, after being sentenced this week to 160 days in the Blue Earth County Jail for counterfeiting.

Police say that Jackson was Bad when he used a fake $50 bill at Joseph’s Liquor on July 27, 2017. He then returned a couple days later and used another fake $50, and then tried again a day later, apparently thinking to himself “Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough.”

Now, the bills were not Black or White, they were the color of legitimate currency, but were smaller, felt different and both had the same serial number.

While he was given 160 days in jail, with credit for 16 days earlier served, plus time off for good behavior, Jackson should be able to Beat It in early July.
