(Mankato, MN) – The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office is on the hunt for a man who fled on foot following an overnight robbery and pursuit.

Authorities say the suspect robbed the Le Hillier Quick Mart just before 2am, brandishing a blunt object and running from the scene after obtaining cash.

Deputies located a black Cadillac CTS driving erratically in the area consistent with efforts to elude responding deputies. The Cadillac fled the area through South Bend Township and eventually headed east on County Road 90.

Deputies executed a PIT maneuver as the Cadillac turned south onto Highway 83, causing it to spin out into the ditch. The driver fled on foot and the passenger was taken into custody.

As of noon, the driver of the Cadillac has not been located and search efforts near Highway 83 and County Road 90 north of St. Clair have been called off. A suspicious person was seen in the area of Kodiak Lane south of County Road 90 in the hours following the incident and investigators are following up on this and additional leads.

The passenger of the Cadillac, 26-year-old Mitch Rexford of North Aurora IL, is being held in the Blue Earth County Jail on charges of aiding and abetting aggravated robbery.

The additional suspect is a male believed to be between the ages of 20 and 30 with a shaved head. He was wearing a mask during the robbery and because of lighting at the time, a further description is not available.
