(Hayfield, MN) – A benefit will be held today (Saturday 3/24) for the family of a 10-year-old boy from southern Minnesota who passed away unexpectedly earlier this week.
Anthony Michael Reid was found dead in his bed on March 18th. His cause of death has not yet been determined, but reports say it’s thought he died of natural causes.
Anthony was a 4th grader at Hayfield Elementary School. He enjoyed Lego’s and Star Wars and was active in basketball, baseball, the choir and Cub Scouts.
His Cub Scout pack is hosting today’s benefit at the Hayfield Fire Hall.
Hayfield Superintendent Gregg Slaathaug says with Reid’s death, the school provided comfort rooms for students and faculty, staffed by counselors and area clergy.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends, as we all begin to deal with this grief” said Slaathaug.
