Train Hits Van, Wells Man Taken from Scene by Ambulance

(Kiester, MN) – A 56-year-old man from rural Wells was hospitalized Monday after his van was hit by a train a couple miles west of Kiester in Faribault County.

The Sheriff’s Office says Thomas Alan Feist was delivering mail and northbound on 560th Avenue when he failed to yield for the eastbound train. The train hit the van, which then spun into the ditch and overturned.

Feist suffered minor injuries and was taken from the scene by Kiester Ambulance.
