Two Busted for Drugs After Going to Walmart, But Not Shopping

Fairfield Mankato Leader

(Mankato, MN) – Drug possession charges have been filed against two people who raised suspicions when they went to the Mankato Walmart, but didn’t do any shopping.

According to the complaint, a Mankato police officer noticed a car in the Walmart parking lot just before 5:00am Saturday. The officer noted that people usually go there to shop, but the two people inside never left their vehicle.

After about 30 minutes, the officer approached the car and says a search turned up a clear bubble pipe with methamphetamine residue. Arrested were 34-year-old Stephanie Beulke of Shakopee and 37-year-old Brent Bradley Smith of Minnetonka.

Later, police say another meth pipe was located in Beulke’s bra while she was being booked into the Blue Earth County Jail.

The police officer who made the arrests also noted that the Walmart parking lot is known as a place where people meet to buy and sell narcotics.
