(Mankato, MN) – An 18-year-old man from Waldorf has been charged with theft for allegedly stealing from his fellow soldiers.

According to the complaint, police were called to the armory in Mankato this past May by a Sergeant with the Minnesota Army National Guard. The Sergeant said Tyler Hammond had been caught stealing money and other items from other soldiers’ personal bags.

Because of the thefts, one soldier was instructed to not allow anyone into the locker room, and at one point, Hammond actually jumped over the soldier, who was laying in front of the door.

Under questioning, police say Hammond admitted that he stole money from someone’s backpack.
