(Waseca, MN) – A 24-year-old man from Elysian stands accused of buying booze for two female students at Waseca schools, where he works as a paraprofessional.
Cody Joe Opsahl is charged with two counts of furnishing liquor to a minor and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a child. He’s set to make his first court appearance next month.
Police say they were contacted by school officials who had received a report that Opsahl had purchased alcohol for two teen girls and possibly engaged in sexual activity.
Police say under questioning, the girls and Opsahl all admitted that they were connected via social media and he purchased vodka and hard lemonade for them a couple months prior. Opsahl left the alcohol in the women’s bathroom at a city park for the girls to pick up.
All denied any inappropriate or sexual contact.
